Jonah means dove/peace.
We chose this name as a reminder from Jonah 4:2 “…you are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and relenting from disaster.”
Ruben means “behold, a son”, and is the Dutch/Japanese spelling of Reuben.
We chose this name because Reuben was faithful to care for and look out for his brothers especially Joseph. Also, the tribe of Reuben in Scripture was given this commendation: “You have not forsaken your brothers these many days, down to this day, but have been careful to keep the charge of the Lord your God….” Joshua 22:3
